Although we’ve lived here for 13 years it’s easy to forget just what a fantastic place Brighton is. Now we are immersed in the world of school runs, mortgages, work and back to back episodes of Breaking Bad we rarely even make it to town. The days of non-stop partying and all day Sunday recovery lazing in the warm sunshine on the pebbles, now a faded memory. Last week it was Daisy’s 8th birthday and we argued for ages about what to do. Finally convincing her that there is more to life than Mcdonalds and Pizza Hut we agreed to take a few friends to Brighton Pier. Living in Brighton it’s not really something we ever do. Silly really as it’s good old-fashioned sea-side fun that the kids LOVE. I think the last time we went on the Pier was 6 years ago after we go married. All the kids had a blast. We got unlimited ride wrist bands so they just ran screaming from one ride to the next. They were aged between 6 and 8 and could go on all but 2 of the rides. There’s also a bouncy slide, trampolines, bumper cars and rides for toddlers (which they all squeezed in to!) The pier is great. Just enough rides for me and all really close together so you don’t have to walk miles like at a theme park. There’s also a bar which is always a bonus and of course the amazing views of fabulous Brighton. We had a blast. Firm favorite with kids was the log flume. (Also a favorite with us as they could go on without an adult so we got a rest). Stuffed full of popcorn. cake and cheap pop the girls all left with huge grins on their faces and a few shades paler (a couple were green actually).
We love Brighton. Brighton Pier are offering unlimited rides for £5 a person every Thursday in October from 4pm, So if you’ve never taken the kids it’s a great chance to go and scare them silly for a few hours after school. You can also buy £30 worth of tokens (plenty for a family) for £20 any day of the week at the kiosk. One word of warning. If you take a big group of kids, make sure you have enough adults too as under 1.4 meters and they have to be accompanied on most rides. Fine if you don’t mind 8 goes on the roller coaster but we started to feel pretty sick! (This is not sponsored. We paid for our tickets and had a great time! We did sneak our own bags of popcorn, cake and drink on the pier though)

Ahhh sounds like you all had a fab day for her birthday! Glad the sun was shining for you… I bet your wedding was very cool indeed 😉 #Letkidsbekids
Thanks, yes it was a lovely sunny day. We were really luck.
What a great idea for a birthday party and really good value – looks like you all had a fab time. Also loving the photo of you and hubby. Popping over from Kids will be kids
Years ago I remember offering to take my boys and their cousin, who was staying, to Thorpe Park or Chessington for the day. They asked if they could spend the day on the pier instead which saved me a fortune (did the same buying a wristband each) and a lot of stress driving all that distance. Our family favourite is still the dolphin derby! I have a loft full of soft toy prizes!
Brighton – the best place to live!
We used to live down the road from Thorpe Park and are sadly banned for life for hoping the fence as teenagers! They took our photos and said we we’re never welcome back. Not that I think they’d recognise us these days! Will stick to Brighton x
