We’ve just returned from our second camping trip this year. Turned out to be a rather wet weekend watching the rain run down the windows, but there was still fun to be found.
Just as we were packing to leave there was a knock at the door.
No, not another political party or religious enthusiast as expected. Some lovely sole had sent me a mystery parcel. We threw it in the back of the van and set off.
‘Are we nearly there yet?’ 2 hours later, lost in Hampshire, kids whinging, hungry, cold, pouring with rain, we decided to pull over and take a break.
The kids were desperate to open the box and inside was a delicious gift from serenataflowers.com. A Divine Decadence hamper full of scrummy goodies.
In seconds the kids had torn in to the traditional sweets (very nice Monty Bojangles Natural Rhubarb & Custards) and then they tried some Awfully Posh Chili Pork Scratchings. Not so popular with them but scored very high with my husband.
My favourite was the hand waxed Worcestershire mature cheddar with the Morrocan spice crackers. All served with a splendid bottle of 2012 Le Paravel Rouge.
YUM YUM.
Just in the nick of time. Hampers for campers. It’s the way forward!
After a bit of a red wine and cheese lay down while the kids watched a movie, we were back on the road.
Thanks so much for the lovely gift. It made a grey car park somewhere in Hampshire rather special.
