WE ALL WANT TO MEET PEOPLE FROM HISTORY.
THE TROUBLE IS EVERYONE IS DEAD.
Did you know that Vikings didn’t actually wear horns? A fact my daughter taught me from her favourite TV show.
So there you go.
Anyway…
We are super excited in this house about a new festival that’s coming to our home town of Brighton this September.
Yeh, yeh, there are some world class iconic artists at Together The People like:
SUPER FURRY ANIMALS | LEVELLERS | MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS | PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING | ROOTS MANUVA | BILLY BRAGG | LUCY ROSE | GHOSTPOET | BRAKES | THE XCERTS | SCOTT MATTHEWS | DIZRAELI AND THE SMALL GODS + MORE
BUT what is most exciting for us is Horrible Histories LIVE!
If this stuff was around when I was at school I’m absolutely sure I’d have scored a big GCSE A, rather than starring out the window and avoiding the sweaty armpits of our History teacher. These guys are BRILLIANT! We can’t wait to see BARMY BRITAIN Live. According to the write up, it’s History with the nasty bits left in!
There will be loads of other stuff happening at the festival in Preston Park on 5th & 6th September. With so many great Brighton people and independent companies involved, including the concert promoters One Inch Badge and top music venue Concorde2, it’s definitely going to go off with a bang.
Brighton’s popular street food market Street Diner will be introducing some of the best local food, including our favourite people the Big Eats Co. from The Druids Arms. They’ll be serving up their home smoked grub including their legend burgers, pulled pork and smoked beef brisket. YUM!
Other Brighton partners include Resident Music, Juice 107.2, The Argus, Drink In Brighton Duke Of York’s and Duke’s at Komedia, and the event will support local community groups and charities and offer a platform for them to engage with our community.
So how do I WIN? Just tell us what you’re most excited about seeing at Together The People below and 1 lucky person will WIN a family ticket AND Brighton’s finest burgers from Big Eats Co.
Together The People’s primary focus is to celebrate Music, Food, Community, Film and Arts within Brighton city by delivering a creative, family friendly and socially aware event for all.
