Funk The Format – Brighton’s party of the summer!

Nottinghill carnival 1995

1995 happy days

It’s not often a legend turns up in your local park.

Living in Brighton we’re pretty lucky to have had a fair few legends pass through our fair city. But when do you get the chance to see TWO absolute legends in your own back yard?

I’m more than a little bit excited about this year’s FUNK THE FORMAT in Hove Park this June and I have a pair of tickets up for grabs for one of you.

Not one, but TWO absolute legends of my youth are coming for a day out in my home town (Hove actually), to transport me back to my misspent youth.

Watch this and I refuse to believe you won’t start head nodding (and quite possibly break out into a full spot of manic arm waving like I did).

The 90’s was all about raves. Dance music was a huge part of growing up for me.

And then came DRUM N BASS!

No one quite sums up my early twenties and the epic journey of discovery through music as GOLDIE. He’ll be performing brand new music from his forthcoming album ‘The Journey Man’ at this years Funk The Format Festival 2017 alongside the Heritage Orchestra Ensemble. Check out the new single I Adore You.

Along side GOLDIE are a whole host of top class acts including Alice Russell, The Nextmen, Rodney P & Skitz plus another of my all time masters of music SIR NORMAN JAY (MBE).

Both Norman Jay and Goldie share the honor of receiving MBE’s for their contributions to music. Both have given me so much pleasure over the years and been huge parts of my music journey. I just can’t wait!

Want to WIN tickets to FUNK THE FORMAT?

We’ll be heading down to Hove Park on 17th June. Find out more about Funk The Format and book tickets here. There’s still a few early tickets left at £30 each which is a total bargain for such a great selection of performers.

Funk The Format is only in it’s second year but is quite likely to sell out as it’s sister festival, Funk The Family has done previously. This year Funk The Family falls on Fathers Day so is a brilliant idea for gift from the kids. What dad wouldn’t appreciate tickets to sit in the local park drinking beer and watching top music all day?

Prefer the sound of Funk The Family? Enter the competition and you could win either a pair of tickets to Funk The Format OR swap them for a family ticket to Funk The Family instead.

Both festivals are a brilliant day out right on our doorstep. Hope to see a few of you there!
