Of course it is happening inside your head, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?
We are big fans of ‘make-believe’, the world would be a far duller place if it wasn’t for the ability to journey inside imagination.
I was a little apprehensive about visiting the Warner Bros. Studio Tour with the kids as it’s been a big part of them growing up. I didn’t want to spoil the magic that I still hold for some of my favourite childhood tales that exist mostly in my imagination. When the doors to the great hall were slowly pushed opened I knew the experience would just make J.K. Rowling’s adventure even more special.
Chaos reigned ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
In 2000 an enterprising production team moved into the disused airfield and factory of Leavesden Aerodrome on the outskirts of London and the enchanting world of Harry Potter began to come alive from the page.
Warner Bros. spent the next ten years bringing the books, loved by so many, to the big screen.
The tour celebrates the incredible craftmanship behind the films as offers fans the chance to step inside the world of Harry Potter.

Although the tales of Harry Potter are often found in the children’s section of book shops, reading the experience is one that should be enjoyed at any age.
We could have spent all day looking at the finest of details around every corner. The kids were more interested in riding broomsticks so I’d love to return without them!
The sets are fantastic and it’s really hard to believe that everything within the studio is really from the films.

We only had 3 hours but I would have preferred to go earlier and take things in at a slower pace. Once you are inside the studio there is a short introduction and then you are free to more around at your own pace.
You are free to take your own picnics in to the studio and there is a nice spot to stop half way round where some of the outdoor scenery is sited including the great purple double decker bus and the actual house from Privet Drive.
The kids were keen to try ‘butter beer’ in the cafe and we stopped for a cuppa.

After a trip passed the Hogwarts Express and a walk down the spooky Diagon Alley we ended up in the wand shop. Each member of the entire cast and crew from all the Harry Potter films has their own wand box inscribed with their name here. What a special memory and an inspiration to any kids keen to work in the film industry.
Having a love of dressing up, my favourite thing on the tour was all the costumes and detailed accessories. Oh, the be let loose in the wardrobe department after closing!
