With all those massive headline acts Mr Rob Da Bank could afford at this years Camp Bestival it was 2 teeny weeny kids entertainers that absolutely SMASHED IT.

Too old to trapeze?

photo (78)Just had a fantastic family weekend at Glastonbury courtesy of some very kind and lovely friends.

After being told several times over the weekend that I must be MAD, it suddenly struck me on Sunday, that perhaps I actually am.

Letting the ‘flock’ fly free

027According to Wiki, a group of children is either a “flock,” or a “bundle”. Doesn’t sound right to me. Surely some of the other group names feel more fitting? A ‘mob’ of Emu, a ‘crash’ of Hippo or even a ‘colony’ of bacteria!? Anyway, we’ve just got back from a fabulous weekend at Elderflower Fields Festival with some lovely friends and a ‘flock’ (or ‘bundle’) of kids. Our squawking ‘flock’ consisted of about 12 kids or various ages between 1 and 11. They all got on so well, not a squabble or moan all weekend. Continue reading ‘Letting the ‘flock’ fly free’

10 tips to enjoy (or survive) festivals with KIDS!

daisy babyOur kids have grown up at festivals.

It’s certainly a challenging experience with little ones especially if the weather’s bad.
More endurance than enjoyment.
But still we do it.
Come rain or shine.
We keep going back for more.

WE LOVE IT!

Elderflower Festival – QUALITY Sussex family fun

EF-tweetbirdJust booked up my May Bank Holiday weekend. Organised hey?

Quality and festival rarely go together.

But last year we stumbled upon Elderflower Fields.

Never again will I accept that festivals plus kids equal 3 days of soggy chips, missing all your favorite music and hovering small bottoms over swamp infested portaloos.

Best family festival? shhhh…don’t tell anyone

photo (8)

I’ve been going to festivals for years, since the care free days of hurling myself over the fence at Glastonbury with nothing but a fur coat and a bottle of vodka. Think I’ve pretty much been to most of them in one way or another, working, playing and having fun. There’s nothing quite like it, and even since I had kids I still feel happiest in a field somewhere….. surrounded by smiles.

Quality time with(out) the family?

ImageI’m always ranting on about spending quality time with the family. Little did I realize, what I actually needed, was quality time without them.

Pontins – not for the faint hearted

Well, my very first blog. Inspired by my amazing friend Maddie who is (and always will be) way ahead of me in the world of technology.
outsideI somehow managed to talk some friends in to a weekend at Pontins Camber Sands. £39 for a family of 4. Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a bargain hunter but this was ridiculous – £3.25 per person per night. Right?
