I LOVE BoomTown. It’s the most epical festival I have ever been to and I want to go every year for the rest of my life.

OK, perhaps 7 festivals last year was greedy, but we just can’t get enough of lazing in a field somewhere on a sunny afternoon. Some brilliant music, cold cider in hand, surrounded but smiley happy people while the kids play.
But all the camping can get a little exhausting, especially if the weather isn’t perfect. So this year we may try to reign it in a little, (just a little).
This weekend we went to our first festival of the season Elderflower Fields.
We had a fabulous weekend of family fun and I hared some of my ‘top tips for taking kids to festivals’ with lots of new families who were taking the plunge with their first family event.
I also had a column in the Argus featuring a Sussex Family Festival round-up.

Whizz Bang Pop Festival is one of the great day festivals I recommend and the lovely organisers have not only donated a family ticket to one of you lucky people but also the chance to DJ IN THE DISCO SHED!!

I’ve been going to festivals for years, since the care free days of hurling myself over the fence at Glastonbury with nothing but a fur coat and a bottle of vodka. Think I’ve pretty much been to most of them in one way or another, working, playing and having fun. There’s nothing quite like it, and even since I had kids I still feel happiest in a field somewhere….. surrounded by smiles.
